What do videos and reels cost in Chennai?

We found too few printed prices for designed or animated reels made from scratch to draw a fair band, so that row is left out rather than guessed. The nearest single figure was one Instagram offer of ₹1,500 for a shoot, edit and colour grade.

What moves the price of a video?
Five things: length, whether it is filmed or designed, how much animation it carries, sound, and how many rounds of changes are included. A shoot adds crew, equipment, a location and days; animation adds design time for every second; changes add editing hours. Fix all five in writing before you compare two quotes.
Length. Every extra second has to be planned, made and checked. Our reel runs 15 to 30 seconds and our launch film 45 to 60, and the prices follow that.
Filmed or designed. Filming brings a camera crew, lights, a location and often a second day, which is why the shoot bands above start where editing bands end. Our reels are designed, so none of those costs sit inside them.
Animation. Moving type and simple cuts are quick. Drawn or 3D animation, frame by frame, is slow and priced accordingly.
Sound. Licensed music, a voice-over or sound design each add a line. Our launch film comes with sound; for a single reel, say in the brief what you want the audio to do.
Rounds of changes. Our reel includes one round and our launch film two. Ask every studio the same question, in writing.
Which video costs do people forget?
Music licences, voice-overs, stock footage, subtitles in a second language, extra screen shapes and changes beyond the agreed rounds are the usual surprises. So are the project files, which not every quote includes. Ask for each by name before you pay, and get the answers written into the quote itself.
A film made only for a wide screen may need re-cutting for an upright feed, which can be billed as a new job. Our launch film is cut for three screen shapes as part of its price, and our reels are made upright from the start. With us, the source files are handed over at the end.
What does a reel pack cost with GST?
Our six-reel pack is ₹18,000 plus 18% GST of ₹3,240, so ₹21,240 in all, and it is paid in full before we start because the job is under ₹25,000. A launch film is ₹30,000 plus ₹5,400 GST, ₹35,400 in all, paid 60% to start and 40% before handover.

Our reels are designed rather than shot, so the price carries no crew, kit or location fee and you never need to host a shoot. If your idea truly needs filming, say so on the first call; the written plan will make clear what is and is not included before any work starts.
How many rounds of changes are included?
One round of changes comes with a single reel and two rounds with a launch film. Whoever you hire, agree the number of rounds in writing before work starts, because changes beyond the agreed rounds are one of the most common reasons a video ends up costing more than its quote.
How long does a reel or launch film take?
It depends on the idea, the material you can share and how quickly notes come back, so we do not print a standard time. The timeline is set in the written plan before work starts, and you see drafts at agreed points along the way, not only at the end.
