Logo design prices in Chennai, by type of seller
These are the prices printed on pages that showed on Google's first page for Chennai logo searches, read on 24 October 2026. They are the sellers' own starting prices, not quotes we obtained, and we did not check whether each one includes GST. We sorted each price by the kind of seller the page presents itself as.
| Seller | Prices we read | What the pages showed |
|---|---|---|
| Logo maker app or AI generator | Free to ₹1,500 | The top two results for a "logo design company near me" search, read from Chennai, are logo maker sites that advertise free logos. One local cost guide puts AI generators at ₹0 to ₹1,500. |
| Budget offers on social posts and listings | ₹199 to ₹3,999 | Instagram offers at ₹199 and ₹499; directory listings at ₹1,900 and ₹2,000; other offers at ₹699, ₹1,499, ₹2,999, ₹3,000 and ₹3,999. |
| Freelancer | ₹5,000 to ₹15,000 | One cost guide puts a basic freelance logo in India at ₹5,000 to ₹15,000. A local freelancer's pages print logos from ₹8,000. |
| Small studio package | ₹4,999 to ₹19,999 | Package ranges of ₹4,999 to ₹19,999; a ₹9,999 package with four concepts and a business card; a directory listing at ₹8,000; a ₹15,000 package with stationery. |
| Established agency | ₹15,000 to ₹50,000 | Two agencies' own pages: ₹15,000 to ₹50,000, and around ₹20,000 to ₹40,000. |
| GravenReach Media | ₹7,500 | Three directions, every layout and colour, Tamil and English lettering, two rounds of changes. Plus 18% GST. |
Full branding costs more than a logo. One guide on the first page puts branding agency work in the city at ₹50,000 to ₹25 lakh and above. Hiring in-house is a different sum again: one job board on the first page listed logo designer roles in one Chennai suburb at about ₹18,300 to ₹34,400 a month.
The agency band rests on only two sellers' own figures, so treat it as a rough marker rather than a measured average.
What moves the price
Two quotes for "a logo" can differ tenfold because they describe different amounts of work. These are the things that move the number most.
How many directions you see
One design take-it-or-leave-it is cheap. Three or more separate ideas, drawn before you choose, costs more and gives you a real choice.
Rounds of changes
Each round is more design time. Check how many are included and what happens after the last one.
Versions and layouts
A wide version for a board, a stacked one for a card, single-colour versions and small icon crops are all extra drawing. Ask which of them a budget offer includes.
Tamil and English lettering
A bilingual logo is two pieces of lettering made to sit together. One local cost guide lists Tamil and English lockups as a separate price driver.
What comes bundled
Some packages add a visiting card, letterhead or social covers. Others add naming, a rival scan or a brand guide, which turns a logo job into a branding job.
How many people must approve it
A logo signed off by one owner moves faster than one that three partners and a family elder must all like.
Costs people forget
The logo fee is rarely the whole bill. Before you settle on a number, add the pieces that come after it.
Trademark search. A check on whether the name may already be taken. Ask whether a logo price includes one; with us it comes only in the ₹35,000 brand strategy tier. Registering the mark is a further, separate filing.
Print files. The board, menu, label and bag each need their own design file before the printer can start. With us, each print piece is ₹3,000 plus GST, and the printing is paid to your printer.
Tamil lettering. If a cheap logo arrives in English only, drawing the Tamil version later is a second job. Ask whether it is included.
Redrawing an old logo. If your current mark only exists as a photo or a blurry file, it needs redrawing before it can be reused. Our logo rescue for this is ₹5,000 plus GST.
GST on a logo: a worked example
GST on design work is 18%. On our ₹7,500 logo the sum looks like this.
| Logo design fee | ₹7,500 |
| GST at 18% | ₹1,350 |
| Total you pay | ₹8,850 |
If your business is GST-registered, ask your accountant whether you can claim that ₹1,350 back as input credit. If a quote shows no GST line at all, ask whether it is included, added on the invoice, or not charged.
How to compare two logo quotes
Put the quotes side by side and ask each seller the same eight questions.
| Ask | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| How many directions will I see? | One option is not a choice |
| How many rounds of changes? | Know what happens after the last included round |
| Which versions and layouts do I get? | A board, a card and a profile picture need different shapes |
| Is Tamil lettering included? | Adding it later is a second job |
| Do I get the source files? | Without them every future change goes back to the same seller |
| Is GST included or extra? | 18% changes the total |
| When is payment due? | In full, in parts, or after delivery |
| When will it be ready, in writing? | A date you can hold the seller to |

Questions people ask
How much does a logo cost in Chennai in 2026?
On 24 October 2026, prices printed on first-page Google results for Chennai logo searches ran from free logo maker apps and ₹199 offers up to ₹50,000 at established agencies. Most freelancer and small-studio prices we read sat between about ₹5,000 and ₹20,000, before GST.
Why do some logos cost ₹500 and others ₹50,000?
Mostly because they are different jobs sold under one word. A low price may buy a single design with little or no revision. A higher price buys several directions, rounds of changes, versions for print and screen, bilingual lettering, and sometimes stationery, naming or research. Compare what each quote includes, not just the number.
Is GST charged on logo design?
A GST-registered designer or agency adds 18% GST to the design fee. On a ₹7,500 logo that is ₹1,350, so the total is ₹8,850. If a quote shows no GST line, ask whether GST is included, added later on the invoice, or not charged at all.
Is a logo from a logo maker app good enough?
For a side project or a trial, it can be. The template behind it is open to every other user, though, and it may not have been built for a flex board, a stamp or Tamil lettering. If the logo will go on a shop front or a product, a drawn logo is worth pricing.
Does the logo price include printing?
Assume not unless the quote says so. A logo fee pays for the design. The board, cards, labels and bags are printed separately, and each printed item first needs its own design file. At GravenReach Media, each print piece costs ₹3,000 plus GST, and the print run is paid to your printer.
What should a logo quote include?
It should say how many directions you will see, how many rounds of changes are included, which versions you receive, whether Tamil lettering and source files are part of it, whether GST is extra, when payment is due and when the work will be ready. Ask for it in writing.
